The main active ingredient in BioNatro® Nano Catalyst is plant-derived amino acids, which are natural, non-toxic, and harmless, and do not cause secondary damage after decomposing formaldehyde.
Amino acids are a general term for a class of organic compounds containing amino and carboxyl groups. They are the basic substances that make up proteins required for animal nutrition and are amphoteric organic compounds. At room temperature, formaldehyde reacts with the amino group (NH2) in amino acids (RCHNH2COOH) to produce hydroxymethyl derivatives, thereby achieving the purpose of capturing formaldehyde.
Simply put
Utilizing the principle that formaldehyde can bind to the basic structure (amino acids) of human proteins, a transparent, abrasion-resistant protective layer is formed by spraying it onto the source of formaldehyde volatilization. When free formaldehyde comes into contact with the protective layer, it reacts with the amino groups in the amino acids, thereby decomposing the formaldehyde into substances such as hydroxymethyl derivatives and water molecules that are harmless to the human body, thus achieving the purpose of safe formaldehyde removal.
Formaldehyde can combine with -NH2 on amino acids to form hydroxymethyl derivatives such as -NH-CH2OH or -N(CH2-OH)2 and water molecules.
